Sallie L. Krawcheck has been listed as one of Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women” in business for seven years between 2002 and 2009. U.S. Banker ranked her first on its list of “25 Women to Watch” in 2009. Forbes magazine, in 2006, listed her as #6 in the rank of the “World’s 100 Most Powerful Women.” She was also the recipient of CNBC’s “Business Leader of the Future Award” in 2007. In 2002, she was recognized as one of Time magazine’s “Global Business Influentials” and, in 2003, Fortune magazine named her the “Most Influential Person Under the Age of 40.”

Chair, Economics Sub-Division
Professor Ann Bartel is an expert in the fields of labor economics and human resource management and has published many articles on employee training, human capital investments, job mobility and technological change. In her current work, Bartel is studying how the human capital of the nursing workforce impacts patient outcomes, and in another study, is examining the impact of technological change on firms' outsourcing decisions. Bartel received the 1992 Margaret Chandler Award for Commitment to Excellence in teaching. She teaches Managerial Negotiations and Strategy, Structure and Incentives. Bartel is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the recipient of research grants from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Russell Sage Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Citicorp Behavioral Sciences Research Council.
